Summary to the Web Semantics

Previous Next

What Is Semantic Web?

Semantic stands for the meaning. The semantic of something is the meaning of something. Semantic Web is the web that can describe things in the way which a computer can understand.

Semantic Web is about, describing the things in the way a computers applications can understand. A Semantic Web is not about the links between the web pages. A Semantic Web describes a relationship between the things (like A is the part of B and Y is the member of Z) and properties of the things (such as the size, weight, age, and the price)

Resource Description Framework

The RDF (Resource Description Framework) is the markup language for describing the information and the resources on the web. Putting the information into an RDF files, makes the computer programs ("the web spiders") to search, to discover, to pick up, to collect, to analyze and to process the information from web. Semantic Web uses an RDF to describe the web resources.

The Semantic of Web Agents

A semantic web will not be searchable in the free text. To search (or to access) the semantic web, we will need some the software to help us.

To use a semantic web, we need the "Semantic Web Agents" or the "Semantic Web Services". These "Agents" or the "Services" will help us to find out what we are looking for on a semantic web.

The Semantic Web Security

Can we trust the seller on the semantic web. Can we trust the buyer on a semantic web?

To solve we need an access to more RDF files:

  • The credit card information
  • The bank information
  • The semantic records
  • The social security information

  • By using the RDF files like this, the "Semantic Web Agent" can determine that if we can trust the person we are dealing with. (the "Recorded" information in the table could be supplied by the Internet trading companies such as eBay, Amazon)
