Few years ago Web services were not as fast enough to be interesting.

Thanks to major IT development the last few years, most of the people and companies do have the broadband connection and also use web more and more.

Interoperability has a highest priority.

When all major platforms could access Web using the Web browsers, different platforms could do interact. For these platforms to make them work together, Web applications were been developed.

The Web applications are a simple applications run on the web. These are built around a Web browser standards and can be mostly used by any of the browser on any platform.

Web services do take the Web applications to next level.

Using a Web services your application can publish the function or message to rest of the world.

Web services do use an XML to code and decode the data and the SOAP to transport it using the open protocols.

With the Web services the accounting departments Win 2k servers billing the system can connect with the IT suppliers UNIX server.

The Web services have two types of uses.
Reusable of the application components

There are some things different applications do need very often. So why to make these over and over again?

The Web services can offer the application components like the currency conversion, weather reports or even the language translation as services.

Ideally, there will be only one type of each application component, and anyone can do use it in their application.

Connect the existing software

The Web services help to solve the interoperability problem by giving the different applications the way to link their data.

Using a Web services you can do exchange the data between the different applications and different platforms.
